PE/Sports Premium

In order to improve the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of all pupils and engage them in healthy lifestyles, the Government has provided schools with additional funding.  This funding is known as the PE and Sport Grant.

Long Lawford Primary School has long recognised the contribution of PE to not only the physical health and wellbeing of its pupils, but also how PE contributes to the positive mental wellbeing of its pupils. We also acknowledge that a broad, balanced, high quality curriculum and extra-curricular activities have a positive impact on concentration, attitude and achievement.  We are committed to ensure that all pupils receive a minimum of 2 hours of PE per week, delivered by well trained and enthusiastic teachers.

Information regarding how the PE and Sport Grant is used, please see the below spending plan.

Pupil Premium

The government aims to boost achievement among disadvantaged pupils through the pupil premium grant. Schools must annually disclose online how they utilize this funding and its impact. We prioritize exceptional teaching and learning for progress, focusing on disadvantaged backgrounds. Targeted interventions aim to enhance attainment, close gaps, improve literacy, numeracy, and communication skills, and provide extensive extracurricular activities. Our pupil premium goals are to elevate performance, address educational inequalities for low-income families, and foster aspiration, confidence, and success among all disadvantaged pupils.

Spending Plans

We do not hold any members of staff that have a gross annual salary of £100,000 or more in increments of £10,000

Equality Objectives

As a school we welcome our duties under the Equality Act 2010.  The general duties are to:

  • eliminate discrimination

  • advance equality of opportunity

  • foster good relations

We understand the principle of the Act and the work needed to ensure that those with protected characteristics are not discriminated against and are given equality of opportunity.

We are committed to ensuring equality of provision throughout the school community. To achieve this, our equality objectives are as follows:

  • Undertake an analysis of recruitment data and trends in regard to race, gender and disability by July, and report on this to the staffing and pay sub-committee of the governing board.

  • Train all members of staff and governors involved in recruitment and selection on equal opportunities and non-discrimination by the beginning of the next academic year. Training evaluation data will show that 100% of those attending have a good understanding of the legal requirements.

  • Ensure the curriculum in school embeds the promotion of equality and equity within the school and local community.

  • To ensure the school gives opportunities to participate in pupil voice and pupil leadership activities that are assessable to all category of pupil.
