Primary School
Under the Education Act parents have a right to choose a school for their children. Each school has a ‘standard number’ of places, which is the minimum number of children who should be admitted in any year. Our current Published Admission Number (PAN) is 60 in Reception and Key Stage 1 and 90 across Key Stage 2. Admissions to the school from Reception to Year 6 are dealt with by Warwickshire County Council.
The law states that children have to start school by the beginning of the term after they reach the age of five. The Local Authority Admission Policy states that children should be admitted at the start of the school year in which they are 5. Where applicants for admission to the school exceed places available, the following criteria will be applied by Warwickshire County Council in the order of priority set out below:
1a: Looked after children and all previously looked after children.
1b: Children who have been adopted through a CVAA UK agency.
2: Children who receive the Early Years Pupil Premium for their early years’ provider.
3: Children who are currently, or have been at any point since 1st September 2015, subject to a Child in Need Plan or a Child Protection Plan.
4: Children living in the priority area for the school, who will have a sibling attending the same school in Years 1 - 6 at the time of admission in September 2024.
5: Other children living in the priority area for the school.
6: Children living outside the priority area for the school, who will have a sibling attending the same school in Years 1 – 6 at the time of admission in September 2024.
7: Other children living outside the priority area for the school.
All applications received after the normal admissions round, or for an existing year group, will be treated as ‘in–year applications’. All applications should be submitted to Warwickshire County Council School Admissions.
** Late applications for a pre-school or school place will be considered even if submitted after the deadline. However, they will be processed after any application submitted on time.
Pre-school
At Long Lawford Primary, we administer our own Pre-school Admissions. Applications for a place in our pre-school setting must be delivered directly to the school. Please see our Admissions Policy below.
