Forest School

Forest School is an approach to learning which promotes personal and social development through play and experiences in the outdoors. Forest school is an approach to learning which promotes personal and social development through play and experiences in the outdoors. At Long Lawford, we believe that all children should have meaningful access to the outdoors. We hope that by providing these positive experiences, children will develop a life long love of being active outdoors. The forest school curriculum has four main strands: Understanding the natural world, creativity and construction, Bush craft skills and Team work and communication. These themes are included in all sessions, these will develop as the children progress through the school.

Forest School Award

We are proud to have achieved the Green Tree School Bronze Award from The Woodland Trust through our Forest School activities and our Eco Council efforts.

The Woodland Trust is the UK's largest woodland conservation charity. Their vision is a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature. They help create havens for wildlife by planting millions of trees every year, campaign for new laws to protect ancient woodland and restore damaged ancient woods so they can breathe again. We are proud to be working with The Woodland Trust.
