Music

We’ve received the Music Mark - but what is it?

Music Mark is a membership organisation, Subject Association, and an Arts Council England Investment Principles Support Organisation (IPSO) advocating for excellent musical learning in and out of school.

They support Their members through training and resources, connect them with the wider Music Education network across the UK, and influence on their behalf at a national level. Their vision is for accessible and excellent musical learning and engagement, inspiring and enriching the lives of all children and young people.

We are proud to have achieved the Music Mark for our school.

Our vision is to provide all children with a broad and highly practical music curriculum, giving opportunities to sing and play instruments, as well as explore music from all around the world. At Long Lawford Primary School, we believe that music should always be an enjoyable experience and will include performance, composing, listening and appraising. These skills, learned at our school and developed during future school experiences, will enrich the lives of our children through to adult life.

We strive to teach a highly practical music curriculum. Children have the opportunity to play melodic and rhythmic instruments in every lesson. Children have time to practice and develop the 4 key skills of listening, singing, composing and performing.
